Around Monte Viso

This trip takes 2/3 days, along green valleys, over rocky passes with some interesting history in background.

The first part of the track follows a creek in a verdant valley. It veers then right towards a rocky pass.

From Gallarino Pass the track is rocky until grassy flats and lakes are reached. Refuge Sella Quintino is sited above the largest lake with great views of Monte Viso.

Napoléon went over this pass with his army and supplies to invade Italy, nearly two centuries ago.
