All the material available on this site is first hand information. I
have walked the tracks described there at least once myself and the
pictures are my own. The information is subjective and hopefully can
help the prospective visitors in their choice of tracks to walk. I hope
too, that it will entertain those who cannot enjoy Aotearoa New Zealand
outdoors with a few modest pictures.
The purpose of this site is to give a flavor of where tramping
(walking, hiking or trekking) can take you in our beautiful islands.
This is not a guide, most of New Zealand bookshops have a large
selection of them. This site will show you in a few words and pictures
what New Zealand wilderness looks like. So far only the main parks of
the South Island are covered. Please, send your comments or suggestions,
we will direct our efforts towards pleasing the Nature-loving Internet
surfer. Sponsors in
fields related to travel and the outdoors are most welcome to help
making this site a must for trampers in Aotearoa New Zealand.
