Alps - Parc National des Ecrins

The walk climbs steadily in the forest first and then along the creek, until the col is reached on an easy track.

Not far from the col herb-fields is the glacier terminal and lake.

The way down Col d'Arsine follows a pleasant creek and then sidle around the mountain towards Col de Lautaret. The views of  la Meije are superb.

The flora on this tour is particularly abundant and varied, especially on the Col de Lautaret side.
