Many beautiful walks start from Hotel du Gioberney. This loop is as
nice either way, it crosses spectacular alpine sites at an average
altitude of 2000m. |

et refuge de Vallonpierre
Cosy refuge very well sited by a small lake and with magnificent
views. |
Col de Vallonpierre
Beyond the refuge the grassy flat is the ideal place for a bivouac
and to explore the area, or go over the pass on the GR54.

From Vallonpierre to refuge de Chabournéou, the track sidle around
the Sirac. Chamois sightings are not uncommon in this area.The complete
loop reconnects with the valley and back to the starting point. |
