Parc du Mercantour...

This Mediterranean part of the Alps has many interesting features. The wolf has reintroduced itself from the neighboring Parco de l'Argentera. The flora is abundant, the fauna is fairly tame and easy to observe. It is common to have chamois, ibex or marmots graze just a few meters away. It is the place of the oldest known mountain civilization, who left stone engravings over 5 000 years ago.
